Sony hacked again, used to host phishing site

With Anonymous Denial of Service attacks and then the twin hacks of PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment, Sony's online infrastructure has been taking a battering over the last few weeks—and it's not over yet. Another successful hack against the company is being reported by security firm F-Secure. A Web server used to host Sony's Thai site has been broken into, and is now being used to host a phishing site that targets customers of an Italian credit card company.

Unlike the PSN and SOE break-ins, this hack is not likely to have any serious consequences; it should be restricted to a relatively unimportant Web server that has no access to sensitive customer information. Still, it shows that Sony's online troubles aren't over yet—and that the entire company needs to take online security more seriously.

Will it never end?

O, when will all of this be done with?

Ah... this will be interesting if people are gonna bitch again about a negative Sony thread and moan about the topic creator like usually...

OT:  I'm not clicking on any Sony site for the next 2 years... >_>

Hackers continue to attack Sony, start stealing money

As Sony continues to rebuild the PlayStation Network and its related services, there comes grim news from Japan which indicates that this whole situation is far from over. Hackers recently cracked into the Sony-run Internet service provider So-Net, making off with a bunch of virtual currency.

According to reports, roughly 100,000 yen (or $1,224)'s worth of "Virtual Points" were thieves from around 128 customers. It would appear that no personal information was compromised, nor were any other accounts.

"At this point in our investigations, we have not confirmed any data leakage," said Sony. "We have not found any sign of a possibility that a third party has obtained members' names, address, birth dates and phone numbers."

Sony appears to have become the favorite target of hackers, and this latest attack shows that they're not done with the company yet. With that in mind, I think I'll be sticking with pre-paid cards for all my PlayStation Store purchases from now on, just to be safe.

It looks like Sony is doomed to continually be hacked!

Well, what did they expect? Not that I condone any of this, but it was pretty obvious what would happen when Sony started suing hackers...

2 days old news but didn't bother posting since i'd get yelled at for posting negative Sony news.

I'm kinda starting to feel sorry for Sony... At the same time I find it a bit funny.

There shouldnt be much problem with this thread, its reasonable. With that said, there may be posters who exagerate and/or spreads misinformation, and those may get yelled at ; ).
