Meh. Don't think so. I'm sure there'll be some form of connectivity between the 2 devices, but there's NO WAY Nintendo would make 3DS the primary controller for their next console. Price alone would put off tons of people.

"What if 3DS could be a Cafe controller"

Well, umm, yeah. So, anyway!
What I mean is that IF the 3DS can be used as a controller, it would be quite different to to standard controllers ( would assume). More limited.
So that would mean it would be quite hard to make games especially suited to be played with the handheld, as opposed to using the regular controllers (whatever they may turn out to be). Meaning there wouldn't be much of a reason for devs to put extra time and effort into developing ways to use 3DS as a controller. I think. What would the benefits of using 3DS be? If the regular controllers have touchscreens anyway (as rumoured), and superior motion sensing capabilities, a likely more comfortable grip, rumble, pointer features and whatnot? Seems like using 3DS as a controller would be more of a bother than it's worth. Of course, I know nothing, and could very well be wrong.
We'll see in about 18 days I guess!
