Monster Hunter coming to iOS Devices

Posted by Alexander Bevier at 5:00 PM May 19, 2011

Every so often, we get the urge to hunt monsters on our iPad and other iOS devices. And who can really blame us? Monsters are known for their valuable hides that we can't ignore; even if we aren't near a PSP or Wii.
Capcom has us covered.

Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting is confirmed to be in development for iOS, and it comes with new controls to help those acclimated to the touch generation fight those dinosaur-like things. We have more details on the interface after the jump.
How will the interface change? Well, how about we simply let the press release describe it: "Players interact with the game using a new intuitive control system. Eschewing the typical D-pad, players swing their weapon in Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting by tapping the target with one finger. Blocks can be performed by tapping the screen with two fingers while evading is accomplished by sliding two fingers left or right. Basic movement can be accomplished by sliding a single finger, left or right"
The game is slated for a June release, so it's not too far out. We'll let you know when it's playtime anyway. We're nice like that.

Capcom showing more love for the iOS platform.

Almost any electronic device with a processor is a real console. Maybe you should check your fanboyism at the door. Wether you like it or not iOS devices are consoles. I would go a step further and even say they are on par with portable games consoles. Although I would not be able to game on one because touchscreens and my fingers dont mix well.

dont take it too serious :)

Anyway I would never take a phone as gaming device if that means I have to finger my beautiful screen, may work for minigames, but will never work for GREAT games, as option (NGP) I like :D

That's what I like about iOS games, they are generally way cheaper. But don't get me wrong, there are definitely advantages to consoles.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
