Each thought is completely unrelated to each other except that they all revolve around the inFAMOUS franchise.

1. First of all, does anyone know if the advertising campaign has started for inFAMOUS 2 yet? I literally never watch TV - only play games and watch movies when I get free time - so I have no idea. I just know Sony talked like they were set to spend a lot of money advertising inFAMOUS 2, and it got me giddy bc my feelings are still hurt at the sales inFAMOUS 1 got compared to what it deserves (quazillionzzzz!).

2. As for the inFAMOUS 2 pre-order bonuses...does anyone know if these are unlockable in the game, or if they'll be purchasable (real word?) sometime on PSN? I'm definitely pre-ordering inFAMOUS 2. I'm not getting the Hero edition, however, so I will only get one of the 4 preorder bonuses. I want them all though, cause they're sweet, hence my question.

3. I replayed inFAMOUS 1 recently in preparation for inFAMOUS 2. It was my 3rd time beating it, second time now as "good" Cole. It reminded me of a lot of things - how fluid and awesome the gameplay and powers are, how sweet Cole's voice acting and narration was, and other things. But my thought here is about the boss battle with Alden. This 3rd playthrough really reminded me of how awesome this whole scene is when you're on the bridge making your way to Alden. The atmosphere is freaging incredible - the fog and smoke blinding your vision; the sound of the metal of the bridge bending, creaking, and falling apart; the visual of the destruction of the bridge in conjunction with the "reconstruction" of the bridge with vehicles and giant road signs; Alden's angry voice occasionally screaming out through the fog; and other things probably that I'm just not remembering atm. I remember really loving this part the first 2 times, but this time felt even better. I think this may be one of my favorite boss battles ever. The actual battle with Alden is good, but this boss battle wouldn't be what it is without the scene leading up to the battle. Anyone else agree?

4. Onto a more negative thought on inFAMOUS 1. Playing as "good" Cole, in regards to the "special" power you get for completing the good side missions...am I missing something? Unless this is the case, this special power isn't so special. I barely used it either time playing as good Cole, and the few times I did was bc I was forcing myself to give it a chance. From my experience, at max upgrade it kills an enemy with one shot and maybe damages others in close proximity. But it takes like 3 freagin seconds to charge! It totally slows down the action, seems practically useless, and especially does not take out enemies more effectively than the other powers in your arsenal. So I repeat, am I missing something?

5. Buying inFAMOUS 2 gets you early access to the Uncharted 3 mp beta on June 28. But, does anyone else think it was dumb of Sony to allow all other PSN members to get in so soon on July 5? That's just one week later. I think Sony would have been smart to make all others wait at least 2 wks or more. I think it would have resulted in a lot more inFAMOUS 2 sales. More incentive to buy I2 if they have to wait so much longer to play U3 beta by choosing not to buy I2.

If anyone has any insight into any of these thoughts and questions, throw them my way. And by my way I mean in this thread.

1.ad campaign will prob start early june( a week before release), and continue for a few weeks after launch

2.if you preorder anywhere u get the preorder pack(a few different melee weapons and skins) as well as the retailer specific preorder bonus.

5.beta becomes open to plus members and people who preorder U3 on july 5, thats not everyone(unlesss Im wrong and its a psn store regular release). people are impatient you would be sursprised how many would jump at the oppurtunity to get anything a week early.

1. Early June? Man that sounds late. Is that typical for big campaigns? Cause I thought they started weeks before the game's release.

2. Yeah I heard about that new melee weapon pack. I was talking more about the gold amp, Kessler skin, lightning hook power, and electrocution grenade power. You can only get one of these unless you get the Hero edition. So has Sony or Sucker Punch announced that they'll be unlockable in the game or even available for purchase?

What you said actually makes more sense to me, but Joystiq has this:  "...Early access to the multiplayer beta will be granted on June 28 for PlayStation Plus subscribers and for those who have purchased inFamous 2 (recalling a similar promotion tied to the first inFamous). The beta will launch for all PSN members on July 5."

1.infamous 2 will not have an ad campaign thats starts more than a week before. only games like cod,halo, gears etc will get ads that early.

2.no confirmation on that from sony.

5.playstation blog says june 28 for infamous 2 buyers and plus members. I cant find any confirmation on it being available for all psn members on the official psblog.

I'm still holding off on my Pre-Order until Amazon offers a 10-20 credit. They always do.

1. Well, here's to hoping! Haha. And if it does only start 1 week prior, I just hope Sony makes the campaign count during that week (i.e. spends a crapload to advertise inFAMOUS 2 everywhere).

5. Hmm...well like I said, I hope you're right that it will require an Uncharted 3 preorder. It would be smart of Sony in order to also pull some U3 sales.

5. after the give away for the outage... lots of people will own inFamous and that could give inFamous 2 a lot more sales than initial predictions... early entrance in a beta even if its one week, its a selling point to lots of people... this two together, can push inFamous 2 to huge sales numbers

while i think the free game option of infamous will boost sales as will the u3 beta I dont think "huge" sales numbers should be expected.

The game could always have great community word of mouth and a huge bundling option during the holidays but its going to have a hard time passing 3.5million.

i am hoping it pulls an uncharted 2 and passes everyones expectations sales wise, who could have guessed uncharted 2 would eventually sell 5.5 million?(it'll get there)

They gave away LBP1 too. And this didn't reflect in the 2.

IMO inFamous 2 will not sell over 2,5M. I hope that I can download inFamous1, so if I like i will buy the 2.
