- There needs to be an editor who coordinates everyone posting news to maintain a cohesive reporting structure and who makes rules and guidelines for everyone. There are lots of people posting news there, and they follow different guidelines for it, mostly whatever they think is appropriate, but sometimes really isn't.

The weird thing is, we actually have that :-/

ah was about to complain why my thread was closed but this will do,

current pluspoints :

- analystic articles are awesome and well written

downsides :

everything is posted maybe filter it some more?

and i just don't like the copy/paste attitude ( could use a more personal touch where do we have those writers  for beside that? otherwise i vote that everyone can post a new article if he knows how 2 properly  copy/paste

I think those are all part of VGChartz, not gamrFeed.

hell it still confuses me, anyway i just wanted 2 bring also some positive into the conversation

because the difference in quality between the "analystic" and "news" articles is pretty big

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

It depends what you want GamerFeed to be. As part of the network hub or a stand alone news and info blog. It works from me as part of the hub, but by itself in no way does it compete for my attention like some other sites. (And maybe not post a story everytime Foxnews says something stupid)

Responsible Journalism. Would be the single biggest improvement to Gamrfeed.

A lot of the articles seem to want to rile people up instead of inform. May be great for short term hits, but in the long run it makes you guys look bad.

Edit: Just read the above post. I would prefer a more serious news section. To be informative.

dont post things unless you have a credible source

if you want to post something but dont have a piece of information, dont just make that piece of information up to fit your argument, go find it

Do you have an example of this?

there were "sony letters to partners" put up that didnt cite anyone except for another website, who only cited an anonymous source. anonymous sources arent credible sources, my goldfish is as credible as an anonymous source, as long as i dont mention that my goldfish is the source

if youre going to criticize sony for what they say you owe it to them to at least make sure theyre saying what youre criticizing them for saying.  giving tham a phonecall or sending an email and adding their response would have been an easy way to try and verify. probably would have taken less than 10 minutes to write an email, probably about 30 mins to call if you dont want to wait for an email response

btw what happened to the little counter that informed people on the hub about how many new posts were put up in the last 24 hours?

fast articles. we have threads in the forum about a certain topic hours before its posted on gamrfeed.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

hours? on a good day maybe, sometimes its days before it gets put up as news

Like many have said filter some of the stories.  Having 5-10 good articles with credible sources per day is a lot better than having 20-30 poorly written articles or about subjects that don't really matter too much.  Make the news more important.  Sometimes there is just a flood of stories and half of them could have probably not been posted.  When the news part gets flooded with a billion mediocre articles it downplays the important ones.  Spend more time posting the best new stories of the day instead of posting as much as possible.

But doesn't that just become "copy paste" news rather than adding something to it?

Not necisarily, they can try to get more info than their source, do some follow up. They can take out others bias/spin when they "copy paste."
