You forget that Gears is a huge franchise over seas also. Halo is so big because its the 2nd biggest franchise in America (talking about week one sales and not lifetime). Outside of America there are plenty of franchises bigger. Gears is not one of them, but a bigger percent of Gears sales comes from outside of America than with Halo.

It'll be quite far from 3 million first week.

The second Gears barely overtook the first in sales for a reason. Unless Epic fixes the multiplayer so it's more like the first Gears then the unholy mess of 2, I say None of the Above.

Gears 3  could beat Halo Reach on week one sales. The reason its being so anticipated (and pre-ordered) is because it is the last game of the trilogy. It could have as much hype as Halo 3 did in 2007, but most likely won't.

It will beat Halo Reach's first week.

But It will not outsell Black Op's first week on 360 I don't think.  What was 1st week sale for Black Op's on just the 360 again?

5.3 million I think.

Yeah no way Gears does that.

But it will beat Reach or at the very least be very close to it, which is still rediculous huge sales.

Yeah It would be pretty sweet if Gears 3 could even come close to Reach's sales. And week by week its looking more and more possible that it will.

All that based on the the pre-orders.
