We all aware by now how square-enix was down in profits from bad reviews and low sales of mind jack and also the final fantasy 14 mmo that bombed  that lead to cancel of several ips and also the exclusive they were working on for microsoft gun loco so  .........

My reason for starting this thread is this would it be better for square if microsoft were to own a majority of stake in square or have a buy out of them ??

what are talking about there in no trouble at all this is there first loss in years ea have been in the red for years and i htink ubisoft even just posted a bigger loss no ones saying there doomed

No, Square Enix may have posted a loss but they are far from being closed down. Besides most Square Enix audience are Japanese people who game on Nintendo and Sony platforms. Finally the Xbox 360 doesn't sell well enough in Japan for Microsoft to warrant a purchase of Square Enix.

that why microsoft would buy square if it final fantasy and etc was exclusive to microsoft platforms i think japan would go crazy for the xbox

hmm I thought Sony holds like a third of square-enix share, so a Buyout from Microsoft is not very likely

also square should have just stayed Exclusive to playstation, look how they struggle since they went multiplat

sony holds like 8% not sure the exact number. It was 20% after the FF movie flopped, but when square and enix merged... yeah.

OT:
It's not a big deal currently if they fix it, they have (Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Final Fantasy XIII-2) coming out. FFXIV was a financial failure. Atleast thus far... expecting them to be profitable when you have that disaster... is almost like expecting them to be profitable when the FF movie flopped.

This is like the first year in like 5 years SE was in the red anyways. Not good. But... nintendo was hundreds of million in the red a quarter last year remember?

actually square was doing quite well  until the pc  final fantasy 14 bombed and mindjack which square published it from another developer
