He said "might". And now from his response to the same post, it almost seems like he was saying that from the perspective of someone else who didn't know his role. Making points about yourself from a (hopefully) objective town perspective can be helpful, but I don't think it was very helpful when he did it, epecially since it was far from clear that he was doing so, which made me think that it might be a good idea to lynch him considering that he was town and what his role was.
As for why I didn't jump on the lynch when he said that, it's just such a bizarre thing to do! Lynching someone I think is probably town, really? It goes against all instinct.
