I don't see how this would benefit anyone other than scum. Not reading your PM means you'll be going through Day One assuming you're a townie until you read your PM at night so if you're really a townie it's the same as if you had actually read it.

If you're scum though, it prevents you from acting differently to your scummates kinda giving you a head start. Also, it allows you to start Day Two knowing which one of your team mates townie-Linkz would have been suspicious of, knowing which townie gave Townie-Linkz a scum vibe so you can "honestly" push for his lynch.

Since I see this as a scum tactic, I'll do my best to stop it now:

It can benefit town just as much as it's possible to benefit scum. If I knew I was a pro-town sibling last round I may have tried to suicide day one thinking I could take out a scum with me, but I do know I would have played vastly different and I have no idea what you, prof, and Stefl would've made of a difference. As it played out you guys made zero mention of me the first night.

So yes I assume by odds that I'm a townie, but by not reading my role I can avoid giving any possible power tells to scum.

However you might accidentally give away a role like a voting role. If you have something like hephs you could help the mafia team by them knowing you could only hammer. plus if you don't read it you won't get any other messages from ABC if you are going to be penalized.

Even if he is on his phone, couldn't he still read his role PM? Also why would he make it known to everyone that he's not sure whether he is scum or not? The more I think about it, the more Linkz move seems like scum tatic.

Who said I'm waiting to play? I'll be doing a lot of scumhunting today, but the "cut to the chase and vote no lynch" was a drunken jab at last round because everybody wanted to let night actions get things started.

Yes I could have read the PM from my phone. That's rather illogical. I could just as easily lie and say that I know I'm town, and almost everyone should have no reason to trust that anyway.


It's not just that though. It's us knowing you are playing today without your role. If you really wanted to do it. You shouldn't have said it. By telling us it lets your scummates know now you didn't look while not giving anything helpful to the town just reasons for us to be concerned.  Since how you play today won't be based off of your role just an asumption of vanilla town.

It is easy now for you to just lie and say you read it. However I'd still rather have you lynched on the pricipal of the thing. This isn't a vanilla game so you really should be reading your role PM. Once you said you didn't you can't unsay it.

Ok I have no idea for the reasoning behind not reading PM's. Really I am baffled how that makes any frigging difference if you read it or not.

I don't know how I feel about Linkz doing it, but the last time someone did this, they were mafia. It was dsister.

Ah it makes sense, but a bit stupid announcing it to the rest of the game "I will not be reading my PM". I just can't comprehend the reasoning behind not doing so, although what Trucks proposed could make sense as a theory - but that also includes the element of what if he's not actually scum, there is a chance of that too, since he didn't read his PM

so then it's just an issue of some of us really not likeing it when people play that way. If this game had an executioner I'd ask them to take Linkz out right now. Of corse maybe linkz is the executioner but he won't know it. :P

Yeah, my one problem is "why say anything about it".

I also dislike the use of "I said in the signups that I would".

So it's a double bagger for me. I'm willing to put some pressure on that. Let's see what happens.

He told us that he only can access the game from his mobile phone, so it's okay if he isn't that active... I don't get that: I didn't look at my role yet, but I don't really consider it dangerous for us if he is kept alive until he has normal access to this website, of course when he has, he needs to explain why he hasn't and will not read his role until the night...

I did my explaining,(at least why it's pro-town if I'm town, TOS's pro-scum if I'm scum is pretty spot on) but I think you should explain that too. Especially given the fact that you already claimed you aren't mafia.


I don't get why you said the following: "I didn't look at my role yet" when you just could've kept quiet about it.
