So basically thats 3 new 1st party studios created or heavily expanded in the past 2 weeks?

Sounds like MS is getting very serious about investing and expanding their internal games development, which is awesome news for gamers everywhere!

Wow, didn't even hear about the London studio.

Can only mean more games though! Keep up the good work MS

yea the london studio name soho

Well the gamers that like Kinect anyway, us PC gamers feel rather left out since they closed Ensemble.

Well the one studio said they aren't working on a Kinect game and the other one is rumored to be working on a core Kinect shooter.  Not sure how good a Core Kinect shooter would be but I'm certainly open to trying it if it works good.

But I feel you on Ensemble.  I was litteraly heart broken when I found out they were being closed, I must have played thousands of hours of Age of Empires back in the day.

Which studios said they weren't working on Kinect?

Rare said they're not excluisvely Kinect, but it is a strong focus for them right now. Turn 10 are implementing Kinect but it's obviously not overiding the core gameplay.

Lionhead are focusing on Kinect, but they're the ones who can make something truly amazing ala Heavy Rain (If they go with Milo) anyway, noone will miss yet more Fable (bleh)

343 ... I can't see Kinect and Halo working, if they do use Kinect it will by hybrid.

The other studios are small/kinect anyway.

And MS will always be going for the 3rd party exclusives, I can't see Splinter Cell or games like that being Kinect.

Wait Lion head said they were "focusing" on Kinect? last I heard they only had a small team working on Milo wich from the sounds of things will never see the light of day. Well if they are working on a big Kinect I hope it's Black & White that game would be perfect, they could get the Kinectamuls people to help with the creature stuff and bring back gestures for miricals etc plus the ability to pich up objects etc.

Halo Wars could work well with Kinect, infact Kinect (motion control in general) could verywell allow a strong push for RTS on consoles.

OT - I do like all this news of massive expansions within Microsoft Game Studios which should manifest in either a stellar twilight period for the 360 or a seriously strong launch line-up/year for Microsoft's next console.

I have a few things to say I wonder if microsoft building up it first party for their next console successor maybe a fall of 2012 release is true ??

What is this studio name anyways ??

and now all microsoft needs is a few studios push in japan i think
