Forums - Sony - Stolen CC?

I have entered my CC-details to psn, is my CC now stolen?

I haven't been following the sony news, but one of my friends noticed some weird payments on his CC and he also has used PSN. I don't want to cancel my card for nothing, because it would take almost 2 weeks to get another card. So can anyone confirm this?

No

Edit; technically yes, but it was encrypted so you don't have to worry about it, plus Sony is offering a year of identity theft protection. So just check your email

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Read my edit.

Although they did technically get your cc information it was encrypted. Sony is also offering identity theft protection for a year.

They did on the other hand get access to all your personal information, name, address, password, etc as that stuff was unencrypted. So if you are sharing passwords between accounts you should probably change it as fast as you can

I don't have such a mail. Maybe that is USA-only or something?

But I googled and wtf is that identity theft protection? I don't see how that helps me at all? It does not cover stolen credit card.

Yeah...

I don't mind them getting my name, address and such, because those can be obtained anyway. Can you give me a legit link which confirms that that information is indeed decrypted?

I am under the impression that the information is not decrypted at all, just hashed.

sorry, I assumed you lived in the US, but they are looking into different firms in EU. Unless you don't live there, then you are kind of just screwed :P

Wall Street Journal legit enough for you?

Don't think so.

I don't even think your personal details are being used, to be honest.

There has been literally zero activity about anything going on. Nobody has been reporting CC or ID theft, and warcraft has actually seen a huge drop in compromised accounts. (asked the other day when I got 7 free days and wondered if I could use it on my main account.)

Play it safe and just ask your bank for a new card.

From the link:

" If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained."

That sounds like that they know that they have leaked the information... at least to me.
