Aaaanyway... Just a couple o' days ago, I replayed the finest six levels of shoot 'em up heaven this side of Ikaruga and U.N Squadron, which you may or may not (probably the latter) know as Axelay.

Sure, it's short, but it's so well made, you'll gleefully be playing it again, trying to beat your own high scores, just because of how sheerly fun it is. (Well, if you're anything like me, at least.)

Axelay, I'll check that out. If you like also run and gun games you shouldn't miss Alien Soldier a not very famous Genesis game from Tresure (same Ikaruga developer), it's great imo. You can find it on Virtual Console.

Here's a review: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/837/837648p1.html (In the review they name Gunstar Heroes, I think Alien Soldier is better, but that's my opinion.)

btw. The game is listed in Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2010 under the category "Most boss battles in a run and gun game" (wiki)

Around the Network

JUST CAUSE 2, hell yes, that game is like a more fun GTA4

Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers. It's what hack'n'slay is supposed to be. Blades, blood and butts.

I kind of want to play this game now.

Don't bother, it's pure crap.  Here's some details:  http://www.mobygames.com/game/xbox360/onechanbara-bikini-samurai-squad/reviews/reviewerId,170585/

My review.  Granted, my review focuses on the Xbox360 "Bikini Samurai Squad," but they're essentially the same game.

ShadowRun, the Xbox 360 console exclusive that could... although sales have been terrible since launch which is 3-4 years ago, there's still an online community because the MP is that good. It has no single player, it's all MP. You can play MP offline, local or system link or you can go online. It combines magic with futuristic technology in an FPS MP game. You can teleport through walls, summon a magic tree to heal you,  and use high tech eye gear that temporarily lets you see through walls... and much more, summon a monster, tech suit that gives you faster reflexes.. and more... it's just so unique in the ocean of FPS MP...It's 5$ at gamestop last time I checked so if you haven't played it, you have no excuses now...here's where d21lewis deleted the intro.......

I remember that game.  I used to watch the 1-800-Magic videos on Xbox Live!  I think you can play console vs PC, too, can't you?  That's a feature we need more of in games today so we can put those snobby PC gamers in their place!  I was turned off by the reviews at the time but as I learned this gen, F@^# REVIEWS!!

Yes you can play against PC gamers I think thats one of the main reasons it's still alive today. I really like this feature too, bigger pool of a community and a longer life for online part of a game. Reviews are nice for information but reviews will NEVER tell you what you like, that always comes down to you individually and it could be based on information on reviews but I think its best found out by 1st hand experience. ShadowRun is a prime example of that to the cult that's following it, liking games is subjective.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.
