watched some 7 or 8 episodes few days ago, it was okay, not really great, probably because I never read the book so can't immerse into the world. oh well, can anyone tell me if there will ever be dragons?

Finish watching the season and your question will be answered.

whaaa?

I just realised that I actually already watched 9 episodes, so only the final episode remains, which shall give me the answer I seek? hmmm, okay. too bad Ned has to die, got his head chopped off at the command of da inbreed king .

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Well it's game over for a year. Ended on a high note. Did it end with you wanting more?

Overall I give the series an 8/10. My complaints are mostly nitpicks, so overall a well done season and I'm definitely glad it got renewed for season 2. I really hope it gets a 3rd season as well.

I'd give it about an 8.5/10. Great show, though it would probably have been harder to follow if you've never read the book. Look forward to the second season as I'm reading A Clash of Kings right now :P

A Clash of Kings is a better book, IMO, and 100 pages shorter than GoT. So hopefully that will mean a better season because the source material is better, and there's more scope for retaining a larger proportion of original scenes and dialogue. I hope they have the budget for us to see the dragons frequently and the direwolves more often than in this season.

Enjoy the book, I'm re-reading it at the moment, hoping to get through a re-read of the whole series before a Dance with Dragons comes out in July.

Never read the books but I really love the series. Weirdly it was my girlfriend who recommended it to me she's not really into fantasy but she watched the first episode because it was a HBO show and loved it; so her liking a fantasy show pretty much meant I would love it.

I really need to read the books...I just really don't have the time right now

Did it got more interesting in later episodes?

Honestly i got totaly bored by ep1 (maybe since i read it few weeks before season 1 started)

I really liked the series! I thinking about getting the books now. Can't wait for season 2! I want to see that annoying bastard king to die a horrible death!

Aye? Why do you want to see King Robb die?

@ Zlejedi: Series doesn't really get moving (for those who've read the book) until about episode 6. But because you've read the book you can skip right through to Ep 6 and not miss out on any story.

Though you will want to see Arya's first dancing lesson.

The series is good but its to fucking slow. The first series ended badly without a big battle which is mainly what I watched the dam show for and they killed off the only person who made the show what it is. I'm gonna read the books because I can't wait until spring 2012 to see what the whole things about. How many books is there and what are they called?

Watching it, loving it.

Not read the books, not going to until the TV show is fully done - from what I've heard the books have quite different aspects and do things in different orders. It'd be possible to read the books along with the tv show and spoil both.
