Forums - Gaming - Rockstar Made L.A. Noire So Big, They Could Barely Fit It On One Disc

There is a big speculation in your first paragraph and I can't take it as an argument because you can't proove that, it's just what you think/believe. The fact is: It was a PS3 exclusive and now it's selling better on the x360.

Yes, there are great deal of exclusive franchises (like GTA Microsoft) but it will never give you more money than "versions for all consoles" because your game will be able to be popular on all consoles and then you can release DLC, sequels and updates (like Super Street Fighter IV), you will have a larger userbase for your game/franchise and earn even more money. If you take the GTA Microsoft case and do the math  you will realise that an exclusive deal won't give you more money than release on all platforms, you will see that 50 millions isn't enough. :)

Paragraph 1: It was never up for pre-order as a PS3 exclusive. I'm willing to bet I could have gone anywhere in the world and found that most people had no clue (internet-goers maybe, but even then, the number likley wasn't anything significant). Rarely does a franchise that's once exclusive to a specific console fair better on a different console. Rarely.

Paragraph 2: I'm still not sure why you push that issue, as that wasn't what the discussion was about. That's a whole different discussion for a whole other topic. I asked him what the significance of his statement was, he answered, and it looked nothing like what you assumed. In other words, your point is for a differennt subject.

You are again making speculations about the number of people who knew that it was a PS3 exclusive. I don't need to see a preorder at gamestop in order to know that a game exists.

I am not assuming anything, you asked why it's significant to be the leading platform on preorders. He gave his opinion and I gave my opinion. I saw his comment before and I didn't tried to show you what he was thinking, I just gave my opinion.

But yes, it's off-topic, I though I could just give my opinion without any troubles. I will focus on the true subject.

Since it is off-topic, I'll just tackle this bit and leave it be:

I haven't given a specific number, I just don't believe many knew L.A. NOIRE existed before it was announced in 2009, let alone a PS3 exclusive. What you don't need to see doesn't mean the whole world is in your position. And yes, of course it's speculation, but looking at games that were widely known as PS3 (or any other system) exclusive and then went multiplatform, the situation was night and day.

To tackle your original point: games that go multiplatform don't always do "much" better because of it. Just consider that.

What you believe doesn't mean the whole world is in your position. That's why we should use facts and not speculation.

Bioshock and Mass Effect on PS3 aren't selling like the x360 versions but it's a plus in sales, it's giving more money with DLCS, it's giving more popularity to the franchises and it's giving a larger userbase to the franchises.

Well, you haven't used any facts (and I admitted to speculating), so the advice is noted, and should be taken.

La Noire was a PS3 exclusive and now it's selling more on the x360. Why it's not a fact?

Read the edit and move on. You said it's derailing the thread, so cease.

Outside the internet? But the internet is simply one of the most powerful resources of marketing for your game and Bioshock and Mass Effect didn't had something great outside the internet either.

But ok, let's move on, you are right.

Does anyone know if LA NOIRE is just a crime solving game, or does it have some action like GTA/ Red Dead ?
