Ok so hear me out

I've seen few that liked the original and many that didn't. I for one didn't even complete it. It had many issues with gameplay mechanics imho. BUT premise, presentation and potential wise it's an IP that can go a long way.

I WANT THE IP REVIVED!

And I want it to be for the NGP. With NGP I think we can use the motion sensors in it this type of game would be IDEAL for the device. With touch screen we can even pet the friggin dragon! :P

But in all honesty I hope Sony would if they already aren't, either remake it or make a sequel to this game. Let's face it, riding a dragon fighting evil sounds pretty badass. If done well it could be a real gem of a game.

First and foremost, it needs to be given to a talented first party team. May it be Santa Monica, London Studios or Cambridge studios. Heck give it to Ready at Dawn! They have proven how good they are with handhelds.

With the NGP sony needs to bring in franchises into and keep them there. And this is one IP that can really shine with the right dev team and hw.

so what say you!?

I really liked the original and it would be a day 1 buy for me if it came out on the NGP, though it's not happening.

I wouldn't be so sure about it not coming to NGP. It would be a big mistake on Sony's part that if they don't bring games like these from the ps/2/3 era and keep them just for that system. But yea glad to already see someone who agrees that the idea if come true would be great :D

it would be awesome! Like you said it's such a badass idea for a game. Though there's a certain stigma attached to Lair and I think Sony would wanna stay away from it with their new handheld. Lair got so much backlash that it became a joke on Sony and the ps3 (I knew more about Lair than ps3 before becoming a ps3 owner). It really is a shame though. Much like GT5 it was critisized mostly because of the expectations everyone seemed to have for it.

what do you think about a spiritual successer then? won't have the same name or anything. Control scheme would be different if it's on the NGP and people will draw comparisons less at least. But the idea should be revived.

To tell the truth, I was reading IGN's review of Lair as I was playing it.  Everything they said was a downright lie.  Which begs the question "What the hell did all the reviewers play?"  I mean the game was about 4 months away from fully being polished, but it's not nearly as bad as the reviewers made it out to be. (Note: I'm not saying IGN didn't have their problems with the game as they played it, but the game never had the problems they mentioned in the final retail copy I was playing).

Possibly the worst slogan/subtitle I've ever seen for a game.

Yeah that could actually work out perfectly. If it was made by Santa Monica or Naughty Dog and had a different name (much like Dark Souls) it could be very successful. Here's hoping...
