Forums - Nintendo - Port au Cafe: Which HD games do you expect to see brought over to Wii 2?

Pretty straightforward.  What do you think we'll see?  What would you like to see?

My picks:

Dragon's Dogma (Capcom) Capcom's new open world multiplayer adventure game is launching in the first half of 2012 which makes it prime Cafe porting material. Improved performance and possible local co-op (thanks to individual screens) might mean this would be the version to get too.  Would make the perfect MT Framework showpiece.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (Capcom / DIMPs) After the super successful port to 3DS, Street Fighter's console homecoming seems more like an inevitability.  It's so late though, I'm starting to wonder if they might have to throw in some additional characters or modes to sweeten the deal?

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (Capcom / 8ing) Same deal as SSF4, this seems like an easy fit, but they'll have to give it some more value due to the timelines involved.  Maybe it'll be Super MVC3?

Dragon Ball Zenkai Battle Royale (Bandai Namco / Spike) Same deal as Gundam, only this probably won't be ready until 2013.  DBZ has always been on Nintendo platforms though, Spike's fighters in particular.

Tales of Xillia (Namco Bandai / Namco Tales Studio) PS3 will likely hold on to this for year's exclusive, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an expanded port hit Cafe down the line.  Same thing happened with Symphonia and Vesperia.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising (Konami / Kojima Productions) Coming in late 2012, adding in a Wii release just makes sense.  Kojima's gotten much friendlier towards Nintendo in recent years, plus Wiimote Plus slashing could be a draw.

Sonic Generations (Sega / Sonic Team) So obvious it hurts. Even Nintendo Power is teasing this one.

Ninja Gaiden III (Tecmo Koei / Team Ninja) This is a sneaking suspicion, but I'm pretty sure this has always been a Wii 2 game.  Tecmo's been nothing but coy and evasive about it's platform, and it's looking like this could be the reason why... the only real question in my mind is if it's also hitting 360/PS3 or if Nintendo tied it up as an exclusive?  Making things more interesting is that NCL and Team Ninja have gotten awfully close recently (Other M, DOAD).

I'd also include Devil May Cry 5, Max Payne 3, Saints Row 3, and Treyarch's next Call of Duty.

i'm not sure i expect too many of the ps360's back catalog to hit cafe but anything that is a ps360 multiplat releasesing around the same time or later than cafe i imagine will also be on cafe.

I dunno, I think it's a pretty attractive proposition; it's cheap and easy and fast.  360 got a good amount of PS2/GC/Xbox up-ports in the early days, same thing for Dreamcast with PS1/N64/SS up-ports.

Yeah, I kinda left off western stuff.  No doubt EA/Activision/Ubisoft/Rockstar/THQ/the-rest will be itching to hit those port switches.

I'd be wary of Electronic Arts. I can guarantee a Madden and a Need for Speed from them; the yearly iterations. However, the Dead Space/Mass Effect type things I am skeptical about.

PSO 2, Sonic Generations, Tales of Graces (somehow or other, damnit!), and Tales of Xillia are all i care for. A full-featured FPS of some sort would be nice, but non-essential

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

ports of old ps2 games or ports of games releasing on the 360 at the same time?  as i understand it ... once the dev team moves onto a new project it is harder to re-open the project. hence i'm thinking a lack of backcatalog stuff.

so GTA5 on cafe ... yeah.  but GTA4 ... i'm thinking no.  ect and so forth.

It was often a case of both for both.  I think it'll be similar for Cafe, though I agree it'll be mostly new stuff going multi rather than old stuff rereleased.  It was also mostly new stuff for DC/360, but they still got a good amount of older enhanced ports (like Rayman 2 or Black Matrix for DC / Splinter Cell DA or SRT OX for 360).

Graces will be on Wii.  It's coming this year after all.

Based on Capcom comments about the licensing agreement with Marvel I don't see MvC3 getting a port.

lol. That's because it's going to get Super MVC3 (and so are 360, PS3, NGP and maybe even 3DS).
