Forums - Sony - And we are back to Square 1 as Sony implicates Anonymous to US House Probe

Yeah, I heard that's how they found out who was behind Pearl Harbor. An admiral found a note that said "We did it- The Japanese" after the attack.

Death to Anonymous!

Well,  it is the kind of childish thing Anonymous would do.  But it could just as well have been someone who is trying to frame them for it.

As for the Pearl Harbor reference, thats not a very good analogy.

Apparently, the firm is claiming Anonymous were responsible for the attack, as a file named Anonymous was found on one of Sony’s servers with the words “We are Legion” attached to it.

Really? You can pin the blame with a text file? :)

Sure why not

yep and with those assholes recent history, evidence are 'against' them.

and I don't think they said they were responsible tho right? I think they just said a file was left by the hackers with that name.

honest to god if I see one more guy defending hackers I'm gonna lose it!

or not but yea you get the point

Not all hackers are evil. Perhaps if people would stop trying to piant every hacker as wrong/evil others would not have to defend hackers that are not doing anything wrong.

Perhaps some users here should stop bashing Sony at most every turn just because the PS3 is not their system of choice.  Therefore, others would not have to defend Sony that are not doing anything wrong.

I am not talking about defending Sony, that is fine. He was talking about hackers. Perhaps you guys would defend sony better by putting forth good arguments as to why they are right in this situation istead of the "la la la defence its all the hackers faults they are evil."

Just to clearify: Is your standpoint that No Hackers are to blame for any of this?

Of course not. Its most likely criminal hackers that were after CC info, and user info. You obvioulsty have to have a hacker to hack something. I also did not agree with them ddos sony earlier. its just funny to watch the sony supporteers find any reason to not hold sony responsible for their shoddy security.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I hold Sony responsible for leaving the back door unlock but I hasten to add that, that shouldn't stop me from being angry at the Hackers for walking through, if anything I'm more so. Because they shouldn't be snooping where their noses don't belong! Because they went snooping, we all have to pay, I'm pissed off at the guy who shot me in the face, not the guy who only sold me a bulletproof vest.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

There's no denying this could be a frame up but still...the gun is smoking right now...

oh for sure. There definately is a chance it's a move by Sony (smart one too I think)..but then again I won't be too shocked if it was real. Annonymous isn't exactly hush hush type of group and have a tendency to over do things in a dramatic way with videos and such.

Either way burn them all! buahahhahhahahhahahah lol

Yep, it's always Sony's fault.  Any reasonable argument that remotely favors Sony should never be listened to, never agreed upon.  Everyone else NOT in favor of Sony is Holy, pure, and blameless.

Its partly their fault for having lax security. Is it that hard to admit that Sony did not keep upto date on their security that is their responsibilty to consumers. Theifs are also respnoible for stealing the info through hacking.

A lot of us have put out good arguments in favor of Sony.  But the Sony haters will always hate, never agree.  Do you agree?

No i dont agree. I have yet to see sony supporters reconcile the fact that sony did not keep their server software up to date which is a basic security task.

Doesn't matter, doesn't give anyone the right to do wrong.  Still hating I see.

Wait. What? I don't see anyone defending "the hackers". Did I miss something?

Actually it was a very good analogy.  At the time, the Japanese were known for kamikaze tactics.  Anon are known for their tactics.  What Sony found is an Anon tactic.  Therefore, it was Anon.

Good. I haven't said the hackers aren't responsible either. They both are. But sony really dropped the ball by not having basic security down right. I dont think anyone is trying to say hackers are aren't in the wrong here. People are saying don't blame a group that is denying they did it with flimsy evidence, and dont try to down play Sonys lax security.

Well just like you are asking to not have all hackers lumped into one group, I dont think you should lump all Sony Supporters into one group as well.  There are many Sony Supporters who know that Sony shoulders some of the blame for the security problems with the PSN.  Just not all of it as some posters would want you to believe.
