Forums - Gaming - THQ making uDraw tablets for Xbox 360 and PS3, due this holiday

Joystiq

The uDraw Game Tablet, a peripheral THQ developed with Nintendo, is now headed to Xbox 360 and PS3 after a very successful tenure on Wii. In the company's latest earnings release, CEO Brian Farrell announced plans to bring "exclusively designed" uDraw devices to Xbox 360 and PS3 this holiday.

The announcement doesn't mention any games to accompany the devices, but we'd at least expect a port of the uDraw Game Studio drawing program. The details of the new "exclusive" designs were also left undetailed, but we imagine the new uDraw tablets integrate exciting features like not having a slot for a Wiimote.

They'll both get Exclusive shades of Black

and Kratos will be in the Sony version for some reason.

They should've learned from when de Blob 2 bombed; you cannot just port what worked on Wii and expect to do just as well. If anything, they should have made something else of a similar nature on the Wii again and keep reaping the benefits.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Why bother? Casual 3rd party games usually just bomb on the HD twins.

Both PS3 and 360 are being built up from the ground.

just because it's worked reasonably well on the Wii, doesn't mean it will work as well on other platforms.  I fear this will just be lost on the PS3/360

Day one buy.

:P

Of course this will be lost on the PS360. The 360 might have a little luck with the parents who bought Kinect last christmas and view this as a good family game add-on, but ps3 has such a tiny "casual" (I hate using these terms btw) base that even if this is built well, I just can't seeing it being nearly as succesful on either of the other systems as it was on Wii.

Has anyone here actually used the Udraw on Wii yet?

Yep.  I got to check it out for the site before it actually released.

Here are my impressions :) : http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/82524/hands-on-udraw-gametablet-for-wii/

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Cool. Good read, and suprisingly more robust offering for it than I thought.
