Do you really want a list?

If you could.

For example:

No More Heroes 1 and 2

The Last Story

Xenoblade (Could become pretty popular once released worldwide but Japanese sales were disappointing)

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (The Wii version was made independently from the other versions and was highly advertised)

Madworld (Managed to sell well at a 9,99$ price point but it certainly didn't bring them much money as they most likely overshipped a lot)

Little King's Story

Zack & Wiki

Dead Space Extraction

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Red Steel 2

On the other hand, they are plenty of bad games that did awesome on the Wii lol

conduit 2

shaun white 2

de blob 2

deadly creatures

dead rising

tiger woods 11 and 12

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

Medal of Honor Heroes 2

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Overlord: Dark Legend

SSX Blur

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Dragon Quest Monsters: Battle Road Victory

Bleach: Shattered Blade

Battalion Wars 2

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor

Tales of Graces

Alone In The Dark

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins

.... having vgchartz availible makes this easy. xD

Around the Network

Epic Mickey, Monster Hunter Tri and the already dismissed RE4 would be the only ones that were advertised at a reasonable time of day on major channels here. Unless you count 2am on Comedy Central as major, because that's what MadWorld, No More Heroes and Red Steel and the like got...

The Last Story and Xenoblade can't really count as Nintendo own them, and they aren't even available outside of Japan yet.

But anyway, this debate is old. There's only so many times I can see people hold up B/C/D grade games as AAA content without bursting out laughing... And oh look, it's already happened while I've been typing this. I'm out of here...

VGChartz

to those coming up with lists.

imagine if the game on your list was for the ps3 or 360. would you have considered it to be a AAA game?

were the prince of persia games AAA games on HD?  ha madworld, that is not a AAA game.  Its like when that developer was making that insect game and was like "if this suceeds we will support wii"

We are all like WTF, we don't want that game and wouldn't buy it for ANY console.  How many times do i see a completely NEW NICHE game being a testing ground for AAA games on wii.  A new niche game is in NO way in the AAA category.

But they both received massive ad campaigns in Japan (mostly The Last Story) and ended with very disappointing numbers.

The Prince of Persia game was in every way AAA. It was handled by a big team at Ubisoft and the Wii version was their main focus.

Madworld is very much AAA and Sega said many times how disappointed they were with the sales.

And what does this have to do with the PS3/360? I could make you a pretty big list of AAA games that bombed on the HD consoles as well.

this isn't about games tha tbombed, its about AAA games that bombed.  I've read both your lists that you posted and not a single one of thsoe games on any list was i even remotely excited for and new from day 1 they were not AAA.  Only game i like in thsoe lists is tales of graces and that is not a AAA game either.

you can't seriously look at that list you posted and believe that if they were coming to the hd consoles that people would consider them AAA.

the wii/ps3/360 are all in teh same market.  you can just go, "oh this is better than most wii games thus AAA"  no, it is to be compared to all games on wii/ps3/360.  they are the same market

If you could.

For example:

No More Heroes 1 and 2 (IT GOT A SEQUEL!  And how did the HD versions do?)

The Last Story (I expect that this will fall below 1m even if it does get a WW release, but as a Nintendo property it's not really 3rd party)

Xenoblade (Could become pretty popular once released worldwide but Japanese sales were disappointing) (Let's see how much advertising it gets)

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (The Wii version was made independently from the other versions and was highly advertised)  (I'll take your word for this one.  Didn't see any Wii adverts for it myself)

Madworld (Managed to sell well at a 9,99$ price point but it certainly didn't bring them much money as they most likely overshipped a lot)  (This had a big advertising budget??  Also, I can't think of any b/w hyperviolent brawlers to have met success on the HD consoles)

Little King's Story (Not AAA advertising.  HD-equivalent successes?)

Zack & Wiki (I believe I mentioned that point-and-click puzzle games aren't a AAA genre)

Dead Space Extraction (Likewise light gun games)

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Not AAA advertising)

Red Steel 2 (Not AAA advertising.  I live in the UK - a key market, I believe - and I never saw any adverts for it.  Also, cel-shaded slasher/FPS hybrids have not been a success on HD formats.  XIII is the closest game to it in some respects, but that was last gen [and also a huge flop])

On the other hand, they are plenty of bad games that did awesome on the Wii lol

Did you just completely ignore the criteria set out?

I read them all and came up with that list.

What's wrong?

None of those REALLY count as AAA IMO though...

What's the difference between Epic Mickey and these?

I will have to guess that the difference is that Epic Mickey sold a lot more than those titles. Therefore it is the only title what can be considered a AAA-title by many wii fans.

I really don't want to get into this debate but I will clarify on Redsteel 2. That game was Heavily advertisded in the US and I mean heavily. Itm ight a case of locations tho but here in the North West they went all out for the game

i don't want to debate either, but i never saw 1 commercial, cut out, bulleton board, ect for the game.

hell i don't even know when i came out, and wouldn't have even really known if not for people talking about it on here as bombing.  i have been to best buy a few times recently and scanned wii games to see if anythign catches my eye and i don't even recall seeing that game.
