Why not? It's free.

Is anyone else concerned about what may happen when the PSN comes back online? You know damn well that whoever did this will be looking to breach Sony's online security again either to just prove a point and... well nothing else.
I'm getting so sick and tired with this breach as of late. I'm just annoyed with the waiting and the no response as to what the ETA is currently at. We all know that it will be available sometime this week. Well we're currently Tuesday and we haven't gotten much of a response yet. It's been one week since that intitial announcement of when the services would start to click on.
I hope that whoever did this had their kicks and will leave well enough alone. They've proven their point (whatever it may be) now leave us gamers and Sony alone. I'm starting to believe that if anymore of this continues, it could honestly lead to Sony's downfall. Now you can call me a doubter but it's how I feel at this point in time. Look at my profile and tell me i'm NOT a Playstation fan, I dare you :P I'm not trying to bring on more negativity but man it's hard not too at this stage :(
Read about this on Neogaf.....
Disappointing shit, really. I was glad to see PSN's coming back up soon and Sony handling it well. I was never one to post stuff like "F*** HACKERS!!!", etc, but.....really, the thought is kinda going through my head.
Whether Sony's security is weak or the hackers are just that skilled, I'm on Sony's side with this one. Just because you know how to breach the security of a company or someone's house doesn't mean you should do it for your own benefit or for the sake of trying to prove a point.
It's hard for me to be angry with Sony at this point. Unless there was some solid evidence that Sony knew and could've avoided this mess, I can't say I have anything against them.
Much luck to them!

At this point, I don't think it's even hacking to "revenge" for the homebrew community anymore.
It's more in line with the malicious hacks with the purpose of stealing data and then sell it in the black market. It is very lurcative, depending on how much infos are bundled.
As stressed by some posters in multiple threads, identity theft should be what you should be worrying about more. Credit Card info is just extra toppings now.
The less damaging outcome right now is actually if Anon did this for the lulz, which it doesn't look so.
I'll never downplay Sony's sloppy handling of network security, but harsh criticism about security coming from some fans of the company that produced the most unsecure OS' and browsers ever, and the gaming network of which had part of its credit system and its programming director's account recently hacked, is frankly ridiculous. Reasonable and not trolling criticism is fine, but that's not what we are seeing most of the times now. Downplaying is bad, anyway, only a serious, rigorous and humble approach can help Sony winning users' trust back and reducing future risks.
Edit: about identity theft, in most European countries those data wouldn't be enough to commit it, most banks and public offices will require an identity document.
What amazes me most about all this is how many are already acting like their info as stolen and I bet their facebook pages already has all said info as wel and chances are they also have lots of people as "friends" that they dont realy know. Drama queens...

The difference is that in Facebook you Choose who has access to your data. In Spain we have proverb which says something as "It's my cat and I fuck it whenever I want", meaning here that you can sell your data if you want, but another company should keep your data safe. As it seems, Sony failed to keep the data in a secure way.

I wont be so sure about that. Do you know facebook's employees? Pretty sure they also have access to your info. Facebook probably also sells your info to advertisers as well. How else can the coordinate who sees what adverts? If you really think any info you put on/through the internet anywhere is "secure" you're living in an illusion.
I remember a few years ago, photobucket got hacked and people were freaking out because they put some "sensitive" pictures on their accounts. Didn't they know that Photobucket employees could see them? How else would photobucket have been able to tell people what was appropriate or not?
