Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Was Born On Microsoft’s Great Japanese Success

Although is this really a MS console?   They really only had the OS on it,  it was actually branded whichever company built it.  I mean we are essentially talking a very early concept gaming PC with other functions.

Lol, Sony the original exclusive stealers!

Didnt Metal Gear go to Nintendo first before it hit Sony consoles

Actually Ninty, Sony, Linus Torvalds, Commodore, Google and Apple all belong to a criminal syndicate that thrives stealing from MS!

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

How Ironic.............For Shame Japan

It's the same with Final Fantasy. Just because it was most successful on the Sony platforms, fanboys believe that the franchises belong to Sony.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Attributing the success of MSX to Microsoft is kinda missing the point, and the standard itself was joint venture between MS and ASCII.  Actually, Sony was also one of the biggest backers of the format.

Funny enough HAL (of Kirby, Earthbound and Smash Bros fame) got their start making MSX games, and MSX is one of the included formats in the Japanese Virtual Console.  That alone tells you how much influence Microsoft had over it.
