Forums - Microsoft - MS building a new first party studio in Vancouver

@the_wizrd_man

yeah I know they always show big multiplats, and that why I'm sure they are starting things off with COD. Especially since the 360 has guaranteed early access to every map pack for COD for the entire gen. They made a deal with Activision at last years E3 promising it.

But I can't really think what other multi plats they'll show this year. I expect GTA 5 is coming but that will probably be shown at Sony's conference. Same thing with Assassins Creed Revalations, that will be at Sony's conference.

Actually now that I think of it I'm about 90% sure both Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 will be at MS presser. So basically a total of 3 big multi's sounds about right.

Skyrim is likely, ME 3 isn't. ME 2 didn't show up at the press conference and that's when it was still on just 360 and PC. If I had to wager, it'll be Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Skyrim, and/or Rage.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

They will probably show one or two more niche titles like Ninja Gaiden/Devils's third (one not both lol), inSane, Dead Island, The Darkness II, Silent Hill: Downpour etc

They may also show some Bioshock: infinite, Doom 4, Hitman 5, Kingdom Under Fire II, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning etc

They should have a lot of trailers to show

Shooter is a broad genre. Games like Rez, Sin and Punishment,  and Panzer Dragoon fall in that genre as well.

That doesn't exactly fill me with hope about this new game lol

I never get my expectations too high. But it sounds promising and I'll leave it to that.

I don't feel the need to trash games just because of the platform.

It's not the platform it's the controller, IE kinect, they can't even make a character walk in a straight line by the players command how the hell are they going to make a decent shooter

You have your mind set this is just going to be a traditional shooter using Kinect. But we don't know anything about it.

Like I said, shooter is a very broad genre. Atleast wait for some details before you're gonna piss and moan about it.

No we don't it's more likely going to be a rail shooter, which isn't a full feldge game by todays standards

BTW this is what MS considers a core Kinect game

This studio just formed?  When are we supposed to see what they're working on, 3 years??  It's almost like this is a Xbox Next move ...

According to the resume it has been active for at least 15 months.

Thank goodness we have you to tell us what fully fledged games are.

Also Microsoft has yet another first party studio on the rise based in London

Greetings! I’m David Mondelore, and I work at a game studio in Soho, central London. We’re part of Microsoft Game Studios, and we’re hard at work on the next generation of titles for Kinect for Xbox 360. We’re very passionate about building great experiences, and combining the latest techniques with our own ideas and creative solutions. We work at a rapid pace, prototyping and testing experiences with real audiences, with the goal of getting them into the hands of millions of people with products we will ship directly.
