So anyone want to put odds on this being another shovelware kinect factory?

Pretty low I would say, but with MS you never know I suppose.

"MGS Vancouver is building a world-class development team in Vancouver, BC, Canada, dedicated to making games for "core" gamers. Our mission is to push the limits of proven and unexplored game development and show the world what's possible on Microsoft's game consoles. And yes, we're also an awesome place to work"

Shooter is a broad genre. Games like Rez, Sin and Punishment,  and Panzer Dragoon fall in that genre as well.

That doesn't exactly fill me with hope about this new game lol

Enough 3rd parties doing that already. I think the idea is to get some quality Kinect games out.

Assuming such a thing is possible

Its been done.

I don't consider teaching and tracking yoga positions and a game

coming from someone who probaily dont even own a kinect ... i own one

I have seen both, I don't really get impressed with games on rails, no matter how pretty the rails are (assuming it's even gameplay and not CG movie) maybe if it was a 99 cent iphone game or something but as a full retail? even xbl/psn game would be pushing it, as for steel batillion I suspect it will work better without kinect
