i think you are reading waaaayy to much into that "s". a next gen console from MS is pretty much a given but to go from an "s" on this sentence to "nov 2012 launch" is quite a big leap. OT - good for MS. more games is always a good thing. |
Ahh, but I have an advantage over the traditional long jumper. Whilst most long jumpers simply hurl themselves at the ground, daring gravity to touch them - I create a series of logical steps for me to later walk over, allowing me to turn what would otherwise be a big leap into a series of small steps.
1) There is a MS 1st party working on multiple Microsoft consoles
2) Therefore, there is more than one Microsoft console on which to work, otherwise 1 could not be true.
3) I use the definition of console to rule out other platforms that the team could be working on.
4) I make the obvious assumption that they are not making an original Xbox game.
5) Thus they are working on a game for the 720.
5 easy steps. I have barely worked up a sweat, while the long jumper is wishing he had shaved his privates to reduce drag.
6) We assume that the amount of time between developers starting to work on 720 games is approximately the same as it was for the 360, PS3, Wii2 etc, all of which we know.
7) We go that far in the future from today and arrive at an approximate date.
8) We then take into account the sorts of months that companies like to release consoles in, and throw in a bit of uncertainty, the company could be just starting on the 720 game or they could be part way through.
Which of these steps seems big to you?
