Forums - General - April 27 Tornadoes

I'm actually amazed that there isn't a thread on this, but anyway...

The South (particularly Alabama) of the US was hit hard on Wednesday by a series of tornadoes. Over 80 tornadoes (211 reported) took place on April 27 alone, including one that hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama and apparently 60 miles northeast and crashed through the northern side of Birmingham. Over 300 people have been recorded dead and this number is thought to be so high because the tornadoes hit cities dead-on instead of passing through the outskirts. Many people have had their homes destroyed, or are without power, water, and gasoline.

Anyway, I thought I'd bring everyone's attention to this, since there seems to be none at the moment (or maybe I just missed the thread). Here's a wiki article for those interested in finding out more:

Ugh, typical tornado fan. If it was hurricanes, you'd be in every thread to defend them.

While I applaud you for being slightly on-topic, you're not playing this whole mockery game properly.

probably because people can't blame it on anyone

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
