That's like 3 weeks old and also from the database he's compiling. I doubt VGC is that off, it's impossible.

Actually, the VGC figures are probably impossible. That database comes from the weekly top 50, and that accounts for over 80% of sales on average.

They are logical figures and I don't see anything out of order there, check them. I think Famitsu is making a mistake somewhere or he's not compiled the figures correctly.
How do they compare to MC?

We don't have a MC database figure for comparison. Famitsu's generally the gold standard since they have the highest direct coverage of any sales tracker (about 70%, which is more than NPD or GfK even in their respective markets).
And rest assured, donny's not making a mistake. Even if Wii only leads PS3/DS/3DS within the top 50 and not overall, that's still a pretty monumental thing given it's barren schedule and extreme publisher apathy. It's thanks largely to the Nintendo evergreens and blockbusters, which again sort of plays into Dragon Quest's favor... people still buy a lot of Wii games.
