I feel like the internet represents some sort of communal hive mind of humanity, or at least the cultures advanced enough to have access to and add to the internet. That's why the internet is predominatly sex and consumerism. However like any mind you can delve into the darker recesses and find the less obvious, less animalistic impulses that our species collectively share and also propagate. That being said, what the fuck is wrong with humanity's collective psyche? Over 7 million views in a month? We are doomed as a species.

Nyan cat has caused quite possibly the first time I've ever felt like an internet snob/hipster.  I cannot like it, because of how similar it is to what it's been taking from yet is being treated as an entity of it's own due to RWJ and lack of general awareness.
