Like someone else said when the PS4 launches i see sony charging for it but for PS3 i don't think so it's kind of late anyway but hey if they did start charging it wouldn't be the first time sony screwed up something.

That would probably the stupidest business move in the history of mankind. If anything, they should make PSN plus free for 2 months or so, to compensate.

They have charged for the online games,for charging regular service it`s so silly

they cant for the PS3, for the PS4 yes, but for PS3 they cant because they advertised it as Free and sold consoles with Free online on the box. 

talk about sueing, doing something like that would result in Sony having to refund everysingle PS3 sale as full purchase price. far more than 23 billion they are being sued for now.

WOW a lot of votes for free forever. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. They will charge at some point. Maybe not this gen but next.

So keep dreaming. I bet they are kicking them selfs in the arse for not doing so already after what this will cost no matter how little. Because millions are a lot of money.

I wouldn't be surprized if they don't get taken back down after they pissed all these hackers off. Not cool but I don't  own a ps3, so I will get some pop corn and take a backset.

I think Sony already has plenty of lawsuits to deal with, another one for charging online which was initially advertised for free would not be in the best of their interest.

Almost certainly not.  Following the hack any attempt to push the cost to consumers would only be more negative.

Nope, PSN will remain exactly the same.  A free service with an optional "valued customer" plus scheme - PSN Plus being quite different to Live charging in principle of how it operates.

I'm guessing PSN is going to cost Sony a bit more though as improving security will almost certain equate to costing more to host.
