well they are treating the video game world as real life. Of course a man standing there for weeks would be dead due to starvation/exhaustion, but from a Pokemon video game world prospective it works and is exactly how it is.

They could have tried something different than that one approach though. I knew before I clicked the video that it would be something like that.

This was inaccurate. In the Pokemon world, people don't waste time talking randomly. And they only have three lines memorized that they keep on repeating. Also, the sole human not affected by permanent paralysis who has a free will is mute. In addition, they don't curse and rarely insult each other.

...wow. The Pokemon world is so much better than the real one.

well, they could have done a pokemon center spoof, but that could have been in bad taste (dead bunny doll to alive pikachu?). But they covered things well enough for what they wanted to do.

@immortal - they had to put some realisticness to it. How a Pokemon battle and trainers would be if the Pokemon video game world meets the anime and was real. Cursing does exist in the Japanese version of Pokemon, so do guns. So really, what difference does it make if random trainer #34215 has a broader vocabulary than in Pokemon Silver? In the real world and Pokemon anime they do. This video is a hybrid of the two.
