It almost seems like your forgetting someone actually stole the information. Dont get me wrong, im happy that there is a class action lawsuit that will inspect Sony for negligence. But the most important isnt that, its that the police or Sony can trace back the hackers who got our informations, they are the real danger here, not Sony.

What can you do about it?  Most of these hackers/thieves are in untouchable places like Russia/Eastern Europe/China/Nigeria who are protected by their corrupt governments.

Really?  They knew that "external interference" had occured serious enough for them to 'take down' a service used by 70 million accounts.  They knew how serious it was much earlier.

No they didn't. They had to get an outside party to do an investigation. That party didn't find out about it till monday.

You don't get it, if it was serious enough for even an outside party to be called to investigate on top of the whole network being closed, they should have informed their customers of the possibility of information being compromised.

Do you honestly think after taking these measures they didn't know that the problem was this serious?

um wut?  Let me make this more clear for you since you seem to misunderstand.  I'm not a Sony fan.  I'm not a MS fan.  I'm not a Nintendo fan.  I'm a fan of playing VIDEO GAMES, cause well their pretty damn fun.  And for the most part I couldn't give a damn about who makes it.  At all.

And if I'm such a "Sony Hater" then please explain on this very site why I gave the following games this review score

God of War 3 : 10

LittleBigPlanet 2:  10

Killzone 3:  9.5

Uncharted 2:  9.7

Infamous:  9.2

Among MANY other PS3 games I've given great praise.  And why have I spent all this money on this stuff?  And why do I pay for PSN Plus on a yearly basis, which you can clearly see in my PSN ID below, when I could just use the free PSN?

Why did I list Uncharted as one of the 5 best new IP's of this generation?

But no acutally now that I think of it you must be right.  I actually hate Sony and I'm some kind of sick freak who takes tons of enjoyment out of torturing myself and spending thousands of dollars on stuff I hate. / sarcasm.

My laptop got hit with a virus a few months ago, maybe I should sue microsoft for not making a better security system in my pc and laptop.

Everyone should read this. It does answer some of your questions and concerns.  They are doing the best they can like any company would. CC info was indeed encrypted and they are definitely working will law enforcement on the issue.
