Forums - Sony - Sony sued for PlayStation Network data breach

I want a good PSN game in compensation.

it was bound to happen; ou can't expect people not to be angry when identity theft is involved, especially when you waited nearly a week to tell ANYONE about it. if stuff like this happens, YOU HAVE TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS, no exceptions

It was not a week.

Sony said founded out that CC info COULD have been taken 2 days ago and warned people yesturday.

That's just what people do in this country... sue when something doesn't work out for them. But here's the thing: if you people weren't so juvenile took some self responsibility you'd know that if you have credentials on services or sites then your basically putting them out there for the world to see. Anyone can be susceptible to network hacking so you all should never have had your credit card numbers saved there in the first place if you were afraid something like this might happen. By suing Sony you'd just be making the situation worse. But I guess you all don't care as long as you get your fucking 20 dollar from the lawsuit...

Really?  They knew that "external interference" had occured serious enough for them to 'take down' a service used by 70 million accounts.  They knew how serious it was much earlier.

That's pretty much it. If it's big enough to cause an entire network to shut down, you HAVE to tell your customers immediately what happened. Potential identity theft is NOT a laughing matter. And considering the fact that Sony MIGHT be face a 500,000 Pound fine by the UK also does not do good things for their rep.

Ya plus if this was as bad as Sony says it to be why haven't I herd the FBI or any law enforcement is involved yet. This is a globel problem and law enforcement around the world should of been told about this same as the rest of us.
