Forums - General - Obama FINALLY releases bith certificate - Is it real???

When the birthers first realized Obama was elected President. Courtesy of YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf3RwRhttK8

This issue was settled 100% nearly 3 years ago when the so called "short form" was released. No where in the Constitution does it say what document is required to prove "natural born citizenship". But the short form is legal in all 50 states and it is legal to the US Dept of State for a US passport.

Never have we asked another President to show his birth certificate.  We did not ask John McCain who was born in Panama to show his birth certificate.

Yes... yes we did.

There in fact was a lawsuit about John McCain looking for his BC.

The only difference was... McCain didn't win.

Also, people suggested that he wasn't a natural born citizen simply because he was born there, certificate or no.

It was actually shockingly similar.

Except... he didn't.  You know, because it was news he did here... and people kept saying "Show the full document" because they wanted to see if he was actually delivered at the hospital or if his birth was just recognized by the hospital. (As would be the case with things like home births.)

The farfteched but still quite possible thing... which if it was what happened also could indicate fraud since that's not consistant with how he retold his birth.

It's not a very likely scenario, but it's a possible one that like, that half of america thought could happen.  Actually more, if you consider the fact that only 38% of americans were sure he was a natural born citizen.

Really, it's not just presidential birth certificates that they should have to show either.  If your preisdent you should have to release every single bit of information on yourself from birth certificate, to medical records to school transcripts.  Heck, it should be a requirement for running.  It's only the most important job in the country.

Again he released what all of us get when we go to thier state and ask for a copy of thier birth certificate so you can get a passport, drivers license, etc. etc. etc.  Nothing else on the long form said anything different then the official document that the state of Hawaii provides anyone that goes to get a birth certificate.

No, but the long form has additional information... which you know, i mentioned above.  Edited in stuff if your interested in why over half of america had doubts about it.   Also, no it's not the same thing we all get.

When I get a copy of my birthcertificate.... I get a copy of the entire birth certificate.  Most states due.  To my knowledge, Hawaii is the only one that doesn't.  Though i'm sure there are a couple more.

Illinois doesnt. My signature, my wifes signature and the Dr.s signature are not on the copies of my kids birth certificates that we used for traveling, little league, school, passports, etc. etc. etc.  They have a raised seal (just like Obama's does) from the state.

That's just lazy.  If your not going to actually care to make a credible arguement, just admit it.

I've already shown McCain was facing the same thing, and earlier in the thread posted a poll showing their was near equal skeptisicm to Trump who's parents weren't overseas immediatly before his birth.

Racism is just a poor excuse and intellectually unsound defense for what appears to be simple partisian distrust.

The fact of the matter is no president has ever gone through something like this. McCain never produced his for the public.  I for one wouldnt have cared if he did or didnt.  I would have supported him and hoped he did well as president even though I did not support him or his policies.  President Obama has produced documentation that other Presidents never have.   It still isnt good enough.  So that leads to one simple conclusion.

You do know that McCain didn't become president right.  If he would of, you can bet he would of had too.  He would also be in court because people would have started a lawsuit saying he wasn't president.

Are you actually sure no president had to show their birth certificate?   I mean Reagan's is hanging in the Reagan Library.

If no president actually is producting their birth certificate to show eligability.  It certaintly seems like someone isn't doing their job.

Aside from which, how many president's parents were overseas right before they were born?

Does it not say something that seemingly the only other presidential candidate in a similar position (McCain) was facing the exact same scrutiny?  Complete with a fake birth certificate put on the internet!

Racism is an easy, but intellectually dishonest arguement.
