This issue was settled 100% nearly 3 years ago when the so called "short form" was released. No where in the Constitution does it say what document is required to prove "natural born citizenship". But the short form is legal in all 50 states and it is legal to the US Dept of State for a US passport. Never have we asked another President to show his birth certificate. We did not ask John McCain who was born in Panama to show his birth certificate. |
Yes... yes we did.
There in fact was a lawsuit about John McCain looking for his BC.
The only difference was... McCain didn't win.
Also, people suggested that he wasn't a natural born citizen simply because he was born there, certificate or no.
It was actually shockingly similar.
