@A203D, conspiracy theories are always fun, but without proof, it's pretty pointless.

Lol, true, but theres no proof our cc data was even the target of hackers. our cc data is not complete on the PSN anyway - does this mean even if decrypted it is useless??
and i dont usually come up with this stuff, but the way Sony have targetted Geohotz and other hackers, leads me to believe that the situtation was never as bad as we believed it to be. and it will now be abused.

Nah. Having your personal information like what's on PSN is actually more dangerous then losing you credit card information.
I mean, someone gets you CC number, they make some illegal charges... you dispute them... that's basically it.
The scary stuff is people stealing your identity... taking out NEW credit cards in your name, accessing your bank accounts...

This is bad, but i'm not sure if its possible to commit identity fraud without legal documents. or at least forged legal documents. a lot of this information is freely available anyway, on places like facebook.
but i can appreciate that its really bad having access to peoples passwords, as people use the same passwords for everything, which in that case makes the cc information redundant, since its possible hackers can access your bank account with your password, security questions, etc. so true, this is really bad.
and i suppose if they could access your bank account using your personal details, i guess it would make sense why they didnt bother taking the cc information, since they wouldnt need it. in that sense it is bad. if indeed they have that data.
but i'm still not sure if i believe the situation is as bad as it was made out to be. because the hackers have not said or done anything.
