We now know that personal information was stolen by a hacker, and a complete douche bag. Sony looks vulnerable, unsafe, and honestly inconsiderate for waiting this long to tell us.
My questions is.... How bad is this for Sony and how much will Microsoft benefit?
NO ONE will trust Sony for a long time and many will believe paying for gold= a safer online experience and will see many moving enmass to Live. Microsoft are playing it smart by keeping their mouth shut.

Sony could have hired Geohot to plug their security holes, but noOoOo. They're so jealous that he's a better hacker they they decided to kick him out of the magic circle instead.

Absolutely agree, Ms is probably licking their lips with how much they will get out of this. If they were cocky there could have been 2 bad things, firstly customers reacting badly and secondly this unknown source turning their attention to Ms after done with Sony.
