The DS overtrack isn't recent. It goes back a long, long time. All the way back to quarter 4 2004.

DS Q4 2004 shipments: 2.84 million

VGChartz Hardware data for the period 22nd Sep 2002 to 01st Jan 2005:

Man, this was a pretty terrible quarter for Nintendo and VGC.  Missed their Wii and DS estimates by nearly 1 million each.  Missed their 3DS numbers by 400k, and 5.57 million for software.  Both Wii and DS software are down substantially YoY.  Worst year financially since 2004.

This would be a first, and I think people are hanging to much to that 50 million number.

PS3 has the chance to be the THE BEST SELLING HOME CONSOLE in FY 2011?

That will be almazing.

So the Wii holidays is not so strong like VGC think.

People. Nintendo didn't overship. They are just having negative sales.

It's looking like the PS2 might actually fend off the DS (ok, realistically it will probably still lose the holiday quarters by huge amounts in the next couple years). But if it manages to ship as much as last year, it will only be 120k behind the DS for the quarter, and 340k higher than the Wii.  Now having no drop YoY isn't entirely likely, but they did manage that in Q1 and Q3.

Sony will ship between 2.5 and 3.0 million... so no surprise here.

I'm hoping sooner rather than later.  Generally it is some time after Sony releases their numbers.  However Sony's numbers are delayed this quarter, so hopefully they'll update before that.

Usually a few days after Sony's fiscal results.

I wish all companies publicly a salestable for their games like Sony and PD.

Sony won't be releasing their numbers until mid/late May.
