Forums - Sony Discussion - Why didn't Sony bring Playstation move to the PS2 ?

1) Because most of those 150 million PS2s are inactive, so it's very much possible that the sales potential on the PS3 is bigger as it is a current generation console.

2) Sony's resources are limited. They have already enough trouble to support Move just on the PS3 as it is. Besides Sports Champions, what other Move games are really convincing? The PS2 doesn't offer the option to patch existing games with Move support and third parties couldn't care less to go back to PS2 development.

3) Sony wants to sell PS3s, not PS2s.

Well, for the hardcore, Killzone 3. 'nuff said.

Socom 4, Sorcery and Resistance 3

But Sorcery and R3 aren't out yet, so we can't really say they're convincing. Sorcery might be a killer game for the casuals if advertised good, though.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

You could also add Heavy Rain, if you want. Problem with all these games is that they are still almost as playable with standard controller (depends on opinion, some might even prefer standard controller). You need good games which can only be played by Move to really increase its popularity or very good games which are much more convenient with Move. Only small difference in playability over gamepad is not enough to convince majority.

Not really, Kinect is still selling amazing and will surely end up at something like 20-25 million. That's on a far smaller userbase. It's also actually selling softwares, something the Eyetoy failed to do.

Uhhh....because Nintendo hadn't done it yet?

Well I believe that Insomniac will make a staple Move title with Resistance 3. But you are right, two of the games i picked aren't out yet to base that on.

But there is Heavy Rain, MAG and LittleBigPlanet 2.
