You guys wanna see my mock-up I did the other day?

I originally drew it in pencil after playing around with a Wii remote and a small book the size of a 6'' screen.

Personally I have large hands but I found it much easier handle than I had originally suspected...

It also opened my mind to lots of interesting gameplay possibilities I hadn't thought about earlier, such as having a gun with a "scope" of sorts by aiming with the remote and holding the screen up-right next to it with the other hand, or playing RTS games by aiming at the TV to select and order units with the remote, and moving around the mini-map by touching the touch-screen. This would require the screen to rest on a coffee table of sorts between the player and TV, which I think is reasonable to assume most people have... The way I see it, that's a powerful combination right there!

I also thought about playing FPS games with the remote in one hand and the touch screen being used as a "track-pad" of sorts with the other hand (once again resting on a coffee table) for a very powerful dual analog combination! That's why I put in buttons and a stick at the bottom of the screen which can be manipulated with the thumb while the fingers are on the "track-pad", kinda like a laptop but more ergonomic. In this kind of setup, imagine a game like Red Steel 2 but where you have an additional analog input. This allows you to move with the stick, look around with the track-pad (like a standard mouse look in pc games) and wave your sword around with the remote all at the same time!  Granted there is a learning curve, but the Wii remote had one as well.

The third option would be the most casual: playing only with the touch-screen, with one hand using an embedded stylus if necessary. It may not look like it from the pictures, but (for me at least) it's possible to reach the shoulder buttons and face buttons/stick with one hand, while using the stylus with another. I even thought of a setup where you could have the controller/screen resting on a table (via strong rubberized grips at the bottom) and still reach the shoulder and face buttons on one side from above. This way you wouldn't have to hold the screen while still trying to manipulate shoulder/face buttons all in one hand, which anyone who's played FPS games on DS knows is awkward...

Finally, it is possible to play many games with the wii-mote on the side like the current gen, but due to the added trigger and stick you can potentially get compatibility with not only SNES games, but even N64 and Gamecube control setups too (assuming you map one stick to the gyros in the remote) for an ultimate Classic Controller!

The same thing is mostly possible on the screen-controller too, if you hold it up-right with two hands. And for those like me that have large hands it's even possible to use the screen and remote (connected) together for a dual analog setup. When I tried it with my Wii-remote-and-book mock-up, I was able able to have my right hand holding the remote with my thumb on the stick, while still being able to reach all the way to the face buttons on the right with the same thumb! Left hand was in charge of the left face buttons, left stick and left shoulder buttons, not to mention the screen itself! Now that's a lot of buttons!

Best part is the whole thing is completely ambidextrous and doesn't even look too cluttered if you ask me:  The new Wii remote actually has the same number of "objects" on it as the old one since I did away with the home button ( I figured the power button could double as the home button when the system was on, bringing up the familiar home menu, but with an additional "shut-down" option, kinda like in Windows).

I will now go scan the thing in addition to any other resources I have. I'd love to get some feedback from you guys!

update: here it is, tidied it up a bit...
