Forums - Sales - wii to sell its 300k console in australia this week

For now I only know 2 people that got it. One just to play bluray movies and the other for the full package. I do however know heaps of people that want to get it but are waiting either because of the price or because they are hoping that Sony will release a different model ps3.

As far as hands on I gotta say that slowly but surely I am untapping the many features of the console. The thing is though you gotta be prepared to spend a bit of extra money if you want to take advantage of everything that the ps3 has to offer.

If you are interested in more details I'll be happy to share my experience of the ps3 so far with you :)

Well I suppose we have taken this thread completly off-topic but why not I would be very interested in your PS3 experience. I have had a Wii for over a year and am very happy with it and I only just purchased a 360 so I`m getting into that, I have missed out on the PS3 experience so far though.

btw for those looking to go hi def in Australia Sony has a nice deal going with their bravia televisions. If you buy a bravia you will get a free ps3 to go with it. Something to think about for those still on the fence.

I have a wii, but I'm more pleased by the expirience I had with the PS3, the expirience is even better on a HDtv, that's why I'll be getting everything in one hit.

ive had my wii for a year as well and am thinking of getting a 360. ps3 doesnt interest me much. maybe gt5 might peak my interest but until then not thinking of getting one

I want wii fit and I want it now

My decision to purchase a 360 came down to price and game library, which the 360 is currently the better option over the PS3, however in a year or two I wouldn`t be surprised if the situation is very different. In my opinion it makes sense to purchase a Wii and one of the others as they both offer their own unique gaming options. Cost though can make this very hard and owning all three plus all the quality games on each is simply to much for a Uni student such as myself and most people really.

When I got my ps3 I only had a 68cm standard def tv and it was hooked up through an AV cable. While it looked ok it didn't look as good as I thought it would be. So I decided to go for it and went and got myself a nice 101cm Samsung 1080p LCD tv and HDMI cable and the difference was huge. Reason is that with the ps3 and 360 games run natively at 720p or higher so you can't really take advantage until you get a hi def tv.

So in your case if you are going to wait a year or more it's ok because by that time hi def tv's will get much more affordable. Besides games I got my ps3 and new tv for movies and I gotta say I got my money's worth because the ps3 comes with a bluray drive which means I can watch high definition movies without having to spend extra money on hardware like you would have to with the 360.

Besides all this I have figured out how to stream movies and music from my computer to my ps3 so when I buy a new sound system I will have a nice little theatre in my little room hehe. So far my experience has been nothing but fun :)

I have a feeling that when people start to realise what the ps3 offers out of the box then it will really start picking up. But for that to happen I guess it will have to come down in price a bit more.
