Forums - General - Whatever happened to Julian Assange?

He was all the hype in the news, and now nothing is heard of him; what happened?

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

He's in England on bail, waiting for his appeal to be heard... appearing at various functions via Skype.

Recently he and the Editor of the NY times got into an argument at such an event.

A few stories here and there have surfaced about how he's basically a giant jerk in his personal doing things like staying over past the date that was agreed opon and just refusing to leave, bringing strange woemn back to the houses that agree to put him up, just randomly eating peoples food out of the fridge without asking, likes to physically abuse peoples pets....

It's all just a holding pattern though... until likely the UK denies his appeal.   Then he'll make an appear to the UN Human rights council.  That'll take a good 6-months 1.5 years too.

So... it's a long story for sure.

Oh my. Those last 2 really sound outrageous. Is his real name Cruella DeVille? Or Sue Sylvester?

"I don't understand how someone could like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, but not like Twilight!!!"

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

He was beaten to death shortly after.

Shame he's fighting to not get extradited to a pleasant social democracy on charges he'd probably escape anyway while the guy that stuck his neck out is going to be court-martialed and likely executed

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

LOL. No.

Having been declared an enemy combatant, he could likely fall into the same legal hole as the terrorists in this whole "enemy combatant non-soldier" deal. I was off in saying execution, but the possibility is there, which is more the peculiarity of him being declared an enemy combatant, especially since this whole thing was such a non-starter

Sure, espionage is a crime punishible by death, but in theory only. It will never, ever happen.

While an fellow Australian, I am against Juilian Assange. There stuff that people shouldn't know, if there were no serects the fabric of global society would collapse into chaos. So releasing military documents from the US, UK ect are going to have alot of stuff on on China, Russia vice versa. and this is how wars can start people, i dont think Julian was thinking that leaking serect miltary documents could start some unwanted tenison between global super powers.

So overall He should not be executed because that is not an harsh punishment, but instead locking in an room with no communication with tonnes of serect documents and when he does talk to someone they turn around and say " are you man". He will then go into insanity because no one beleives him.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
