Forums - Sales - Industry Expert: Microsoft Xbox is king of consoles in UAE

the average income of an UAE resident is something like 14 million.

I think they would be able to buy all the consoles. Also SONY has been in the region the longest, has the largest instal base, most likely have PSN network for the UAE region. Why is xbox the king when they had 1 good quarter last year.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

It was a great 2010 fourth quater for Kinect and the 360.

That article has so much spin, we could say it's been centrifuged!

It sounds pretty simple.  The ps3 has sold more consoles, but 'lately' xbox has been selling more...  It sounds like it would be smart for the UAE is getting language support in the upcoming kinect update.

Never use a mean when it comes to income.... you wanna use the median.

Though really there aren't many numbers on the UAE.

Im one of the few that do not like Sony products that much and I live there :D People mostly buy a ps3 or Xbox here for Fifa, PES, and maybe the occassional action game. That is why I didn't buy it :)

Missleading article, Sony's PS3 outsells 360 by 5 to 1 in UAE.

You have source for that

Yes, the biggest online shopping web site in UAE. Click link below:

http://uae.souq.com/browse/games-1-1369-EN/

If you check how many PS3 games for sale, you will find around 1387 games

Xbox 360 games: 257

Out of 1387 posting in PS3 section there are around 35 posting for blu ray movies. So, around 1352 are actual games.

It even get very desperate for some 360 owners when they post some of  there games under the PS3 section.

UAE and MIddle belongs to Sony and PS3.

If you went by websites... Sony and PS3 would rule the US according to Amazon.  They're always overrepresented at amazon.

I think online in general.

Though heck, you aren't even using that... but number of games offered... wha?

Again with Amazon, PS3 has like 1,000 more games for sale then 360.  Even though 360 has more games period... and the 360 is more popular in the US.

Also, PC is more popular then 360, Wii & PS3 combined.

Also... the "PS3 section" isn't really a PS3 section.

Like literally the majority of the games in that section aren't PS3 games.

There's a ton of Blu-ray Movies, 360 games, PS2 games, wii games, PSP games, DS games, various accessories... Itunes gift cards.

An I-pad.

I mean... seriously?

To clear out things, this is not an Amazon like store. This is something more similar to e-bay, so most people selling and buying are mostly gamers, which really reflects the usersbase for PS3.

I agree that there some other things besides PS3 games, as I said, I counted around 35 BR movies and some others try to use the PS3 to sell some other things because it is popular. I would say around 90% of listing is for PS3 games.
