Official, soon to come, statement from Sony.  "We are terribly sorry for the issues that we have been having with PSN for the last several days.  In order to prevent further instances such as this occurring, we are going to have to begin charging a small monthly fee of $3-$5 per month so that we can maintain better security on our service.  Once again, we sincerely apologize to all of those that the downtime has affected."

It's a scam!  Sony is just softening us up so we will think we need to pay in order for things like these not to happen, haha.  This would really suck though.

I really don't know why Sony is being so tight lipped about the situation. Maybe it's a Japanese cultural thing, because they leave a lot to speculation by saying nothing.

psn is down there working on upgrading the servers and make it so you can cross platform with people on pc  go to 1- up they will give you the whole story i think it will be back 4 23 11

So it all has to do with Portal 2?

I don't know what to believe.  But I surely hope that it is back up by this weekend because I intend on playing some.
