Forums - Microsoft - All load times for 360 Oblivion GOTY Edition are very slow

See title.

Wife heard Elder Scrolls themes - Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim. Decided she wanted games based on music. I grabbed GOTY edition of Oblivion for our 360. Installed to hard drive with DLC.

Load times are atrocious. Therei s a noticeable lag, a countable number of seconds, for almost everything. Talking to Uriel Setpim? Load. Looting a rat? I just loaded for like three seconds!

The initial load for the game takes upward of twenty seconds.

What the Hell is happening here

Is this normal

EDIT:

Turns out clearing my system cache cleared things up. Hooray!

wait, so your expevting more then 1k hours of content without load times and bugs?

thats why the industry is going down, people have unreal expectations.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

No, that isn't regular. Try playing without it installed?

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

I've only played the PC and PS3 versions and with them I noticed there was considerable loading between the dungeons and overworld; but not as bad as what you've experienced. Try doing a full install of the game which is an option now for Xbox 360 games.

Edit: I see you've tried that already, then uninstall it like dsister said.

None of what I described was normal. The shift from the start screen to the load for a new game was fourteen seconds. The load for a new game was two minutes and four seconds.l

@Machina:

You are keeping a consistent track record here

@Topic:

Turns out clearing my system cache fixed it up. What an esoteric problem.

If that's the most pressing issue you have with the game so far then, honestly, you should consider yourself extremely lucky.

I played the PS3 GotY version, not the 360 one, but I don't remember the loading times being particularly awful (just the rest of the game ><).

hey take that back!!!

im sending your post to slimebeast

I love Mass Effect 2, if that helps.

Well, admittedly, it does.

Wonderful! She has a great taste in music. Tell her hello from me.

I'm glad your lag issue got fixed btw.
