FF, I had arrived at the same conclusion. The only thing bothering me was Baal's claim that he's lose his ability for the entire length of the game, when coming out should only lose the try at finding the SK the next night.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, other people can speculate and claim things about others without any penalty occurring to the one talked about. It is only if he confirms that the penalty applies.

I had been attributing it to the Psych's conversion ability, but now when he says he WAS hoping to say more today the waters just get muddier.
Also I guess I was having a brain fart when I said yesterday that he would be telling all even if I died. Obviously that's stupid if he really gets townified for doing so.

To be honest I thought you were indicating to Baal that you're the SK when you said that. Depending on the way hat reveals roles, your death after conversion may or may not have confirmed him.
In FMA are there any notable psychiatrists? My role fits with my character, and Armstrong usually is overly-friendly, and Greed appears evil but really turns out to actually care for his workers and rebels against the homunculous until he's killed, so I think there would have to be a character like one. Dr. Marco may be it, in the flavor it says he tried to give the stone to wonk but it obviously didn't work because Wonk is "Tracking". Maybe that was the psychiatrist who missed the right person?
