Forums - General Discussion - VGC Mafia Round -28- FullMetal Alchemist

Now that it's solved,(by j0's updated votals) my biggest reason for not wanting the day to end was because after your vote for No Lynch, hat's votals did not show you on the No Lynch train. Hence, I thought you might be voteless(which would be quite funny considering the doublevoter role last time) and had some ideas to figure out.

We can train on a lurker. This will give incentive for people to play, create discussion, and take advantage of a chance to lynch a mafia. It will also further eventually get to night and have all the benefits of the above.

I feel like I could find someone that is likely scum and not necessarily lurking, but I believe this idea has some merit. I am dissappointed that so many players are inactive or willing to jump for a no lynch after such a short period of time. It doesn't show much promise for future days without relying on night actions, and with the whole claiming thing those may prove to be of limited usefulness. Lynching someone that isn't really playing will hopefully send a clear message.

I thought he had a change of heart recently. Is he really always for no lynch?

Also, @ABC, it was me who was looking to lynch a lurker. Maybe I missed where vetteman said this...

You want to lynch a lurker? Why?

Well, I wouldn't mind the eventuality of lynching a lurker today because we do indeed have a free lynch, and it would create at least some discussion. You complained earlier about how the thread is boring. So why would you vote no lynch? To me, that logic says night would be less boring, or tomorrow would be less boring given the night. I don't agree with those ideas.

You want to get people to start playing, then MAKE people start playing. Get it?

No lynch has the most votes, I want the day to end so something would happen over the night and we could get a real game going. If we lynch a lurker, we won't be able to even discuss it until the next day. How many people do you want to not even have a chance to play before the next day?

Why is there a Hat voting for No Lynch?

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

"hat" in the votals is "leatherhat"

Could somebody explain to me how a lynch today is a "free" kill based on the number of players we have?  I'm assuming this involves a simplistic game?

I'll simplify it a bit further to some quick numbers: Say the game is made up of 2 mafia and 5 town. If town mislynches twice then they lose. If town passes on the lynch day one, then they're at 2 mafia to 4 town day two, and a mislynch there means with the night kill mafia equals town and thus wins. So no lynching day one means giving up an opportunity to lynch scum. If the game were instead made up of 1 mafia and 6 town, you'd have the same scenario just going from three chances to two instead.

So it doesn't matter how many mafia there are, only the fact that the town as a whole has an odd number of players. This does depend on the game being simple(1 anti-town faction and thus 1 kill a night) and also doesn't account for events such as a doctor save.

I think I'm going to vote no lynch today unless someone changes my mind, the only people I'm considering to vote are linkz still and maybe vetteman for wanting to get a lurker lynched this early.

interesting.... so please tell me where you saw him ask this? (I ask because prof is wrong, vett is always for no lynch, but you seem to be playing the nice kid who follows what the teacher says and plays it as facts to bandwagon early ^^)

Is vette always for no lynch?

You're really pressing me to ignore the gut feeling that you're town by both voting and pushing to get you lynched right?

As has already been pointed out, Vette said no such thing about voting a lurker. In fact he said he'd vote for me, but already said he's always against a first day lynch barring a screw up, so went with the no lynch vote. I'm pretty sure that I'm as anti-lurking as one could get.

So you're clearly not paying attention. Then you deflect the question asked of you on this matter instead of just admitting you mistook him for someone else or whatever you had been thinking.

I'm glad nobody else has really mentioned why they have voted or are considering voting for me, because now I can ask for a fresh opinion from you. What makes me an option in your mind? Furthermore, you have voiced absolutely zero suspicions of me, so why say "the only people I'm condsidering to vote are linkz still"?

The game is already going. Everyone has a chance to play right now. Of course there won't be any further discussion today about a lynch, but it is something extra to talk about the next day. And unlike a night kill(s) which are only decided by a few unknown people, everyone knows who drives a lynch or tried to derail it.

So what if there is another killer, does that basically diminish the strategy behind this?
