I attended a HOBY leadership seminar and we had an innovation lab (Early April). A Nintendo correspondent (not sure of his exact title) was there along with IBM and other companies trying to show case their products. He had the 3DS displayed. I asked him that if a new generation had started and he said yes. Of course this lead me into asking about a Wii2. "We are always working on a new product, development is constant and innovation will thrive onto a new hardware. Factors considered, a new system is announced when the time is appropriate." Then rumors spread about a Wii2 so I believe a Wii 2 is coming. He didn't deny it :P.....in fact he said when the time is appropriate! He also mentioned about Nintendo looking to expand the audience further with the 3DS blah blah blah.....and that there focus was to help 3rd parties strive more on their platforms. So hardcore Wii2 while retaining casual is a possibility. If you look at it, the price of the 3DS actually, they could make a strong new hardware system and pricing it with a hefty price. People buy for value, no?
