That's great for the consoles. Hopefully the series will become even bigger.

Why is it great for the consoles that their versions got cancelled?

lol no it's not. Or at least not anytime in the remotely near future. "Indefinite hold" is usually a death sentence, and they said they're not even working on the console version at all right now, with the PC version now a month from release. I would say that's pretty definitive.

Hmmm. I guess it is good to own a PC then :)

No dumbing down of mechanics, shitty UI, or a whole lot of other messy mechanics which don't work in a PC game but are more or less necessary in a console one.

But a port wouldn't be bad for people who don't have a computer that can run anything.

Which I am more than willing to live through to avoid what I mentioned.

Not every multiplat game has to be Dragon Age II. Anyone here who knows me at all knows I'm a huge PC gamer, but it's still nice for me to have more people experience the games I love. I think it would be good to have console versions of the The Witcher and The Witcher 2. The fact that it doesn't seem like it's going to happen is to obad for the many people who won't get a shot at the great franchise. Don't relish in others' loss. It's not a good trait, and it makes you look bitter.

I agree it doesn't have to be Dragon Age 2, or Invisible War, or BioShock 2, or Oblivion (face it, it needed a whoel lot of mods to become playable), or Fallout 3, or FEAR 2, or what looks like the new X-COM, or... I can really pull out a nice list of sequels which have in console mechanics that have ruined franchises.
I also very much am bitter that due to peple who can't play games, my games have been dumbed down. The problem is that all those crappy mechanics are made so that games appeal more to the least common denominator, which just like in any other entertainment, is a scrub/newb/noob/etc. I will always choose to deprive those people of good franchises if it meant that the franchises would have to be ruined. They should either learn to play the non-dumbed down games, or not get the games period. The catch-22 here is that they don't enjoy those games, they enjoy the new breed of dumbed down, "hardcore," games. Sadly there is far more of them, just as in any other entertainment medium, than people who appreciate a well built, thought out, game and therefore businesses target them more. This effect is also the reason why in 1969 the number 1 song was Sugar Sugar, or that last year's best song was Tik Tok. Now I am not saying all console players are too scrubbish to handle harder games that don't help them out, like health regen or 3rd person or environment highlights or cover systems, but I am saying that that is what sells the most becuse there are those types of gamers, and it seems like there is a huge amount of them on the consoles.
P.S. I only said BioShock 2, but to be brutally honest BioShock was a crappy version of System Shock 2.
Edit: I couldn't let this rant go without mentioning the ridiculousness that are cover systems, or even better the whole one-button-does-12-thing-depending-what-you-are-near. Are people too stupid to press a crouch button behind a wall now? Or maybe they suck so bad that they can't press a jump button to jump over a chest-high wall?
