You do have to laugh at the same exact people in here trying to spin this as a loss for Sony. Come on. Is your dislike for Sony that strong? I bet if it was the 360/Wii, a lot of you would be like, "You go MS/Nintendo, kick Geohot's ass." Can anyone explain how Sony lost? How did this injunction hurt them? Geohot got nothing out of the deal. Sony can continue selling just as many PS3s as tthey want to, continuing to lead the home consoles for this year. Geohot was the only one hurt here. He can't even touch a Sony product with the thought of hacking it again, unless he wants to face fines that not even his loyal fans will help pay for. Of course with his bruised ego, he's trying to play it off like some boycott to save face.
And if another hacker comes up in his place, Sony can persue the same method. I even remember a month or so ago, there was a story in which on of the hackers deeply involved in the PS3 scene said he wasn't even going to attempt to hack the new FW/security Sony put in place recently, deeming it "unhackable" again. You can bet Sony actions of late weighed his decision. Just wish I could remember his name.
