By percentage, these types of purchases have not worked out well for development houses.  By just odds alone, this would lead to the end of Quantic Dreams as you know it.

Name a few examples of this happening with Sony, cause i sure as hell dont recall any.

Who has Sony acquired this gen?

Besides, I was talking about INDUSTRY statistics anyway, not cherry picking a particular publisher's track record.  The industry trends for development house purchases THIS GEN have been exactly as I stated and reflect more the fragile economic situation more than any particular publisher's predilections.

Of course is SCE is one's adoration, then ...

Well this isn't confirmed as true, but if so, wow. Sony's first party is becoming gigantic.

As for Sucker Punch, I'm actually surprised Sony haven't bought them given that this generation anyone producing hits for their platform seems to be aquired. Evolution at the start of the gen, then MM after LBP. Possibly InFamous was simply not considered big enough. Or given that SP is such a small studio, Sony are quite confident they'll remain exclusive to them.

Evolution was perhaps jumping the gun a bit. Motorstorm sold well as a launch title, and it was very impressive what Evolution  accomplished in a limited time frame - especially with their engine. However since then we've seen nothing as successful from them, Pacific Rift which crawled by a million, and Apocalypse which will be lucky to do the same I think. I'm aware they do a lot of work on 3D and act somewhat as a tech/R&D team for Sony, but I'm not entirely sure if it was the wisest purchase by Sony by any means.

Anyway, this would be a good move by Sony. QD look to create very unique games that draws a lot of media attention. I think the extra support and sharing of tech will help them evolve as a studio as well.

Sucker Punch or Insomniac Games would be a much better acquisition.

Insomniac Games ain't happening. But I'm curious, why would either of those be "better" than QD?

Do I really need to answer this question or are you joking right now?

Better be true.

lol, I think you have some explaining to do... (I think both would be a relatively bad choice).

Well since you rarely elaborate on anything (and when you do, it's usually accompanied by some sort of put down), I'm not expecting anything from you.

1st off, nothing is out of the question, every company has their price, it just depends on if someone is willing to pay that price, but yes, it's unlikely they would buy IG now that they're expanding and growing.

Either way, SP and IG have made multiple multimillion selling games and are way more talented than the folks at QD. It makes sense from both a business sense and quality sense to prioritize those two instead of QD. No offense to Cage and co, but they make one "Simon says" game that is not even close to the old school legendary LA adventure games and now people are suggesting they're more talented and more  profitable than SP or IG? GTFO.

I decided to say a little more, even From Software, or just the Demon's Souls team, would be a way better purchase than QD.

Incognito.

It's disbanded, but most of the memeber are either with LightBox Interactive or Eat Sleep and Play. Bad example.

It's actually a great example. If you buy a company and they all leave to form another company, then all you have is some IPs and no talent left. That's what happened with Incog and that's what happened with Rareware, that's why acquisitions are not so black and white. If MS pays U$3 billion to buy Take 2 but the Houser brother, Levine, Sid Meyer, etc all leave, then they got all the IP, but the games are gonna suck and people are gonna slowly migrate to the new IPs those people eventually make on their new companies. That's what's gonna happen with Call of Duty and Respawn's new game over the next 3-5 years.
