I am an gamer like many of you and here is an random rant i feel like sharing: feel free to post your own or discuss my rant. 

I was sitting down today watching my local sport (Australian FootBall league) and there was the discussion of players getting more money from the TV rights. Then it hit me, are we really paying these players all this money, what ever the sport just to run around and kick an ball, hit an ball or hit each other. hell those race car drivers have it going for them since they get payed  money for driving really fast, something we regular people get fined 100s of dollars for doing. Really its all entertainment but do they really need all the money, do Sport Stars around the world really need the millions of dollars, same with movie stars. They have such an easy and enjoyable career and is getting paid heaps of money. Sure they are risking there bodies, well there are millions risking there lives for 1000th of there pay and really i would train each day and look after my body if someone was paying me millions of dollars. 

Movie stars getting paid absured amount of money just to act in front of an camera is just plain crazy. Really people this is just f'ed up. these people are doing jobs we all wish to be doing and on top they are getting huge pay checks while the job that matter, the jobs that keep them in jobs get little. Look at the games industry, they supply entertainment for 100s of millions of people and get pay no where near enough for the sheer amount of effort and hard work required to complete such task. Say what you want, i just think that when you hear players or actors demanding more money, they should sit down and be gratefull for getting that. 

And one final note on sport players getting paid lots of money: They grew up wanting to play the sport, if you ask alot of the sports stars when they are trying to break into the ranks of professional sports would you do it for nothing, i bet alot of them would. Really they are already doing what we cant they should take what they get and never complain. 

The thing about actors is they bring in a lot of money through the box office, and subsequent DVD releases. It's only fair that they get a large check. It's either them or the studio...

believe it are not acting is'nt as easy as you make it out to be. There probably on set 12 to 16 hrs at a time. Plus they bring in big money for the studios. So I think they do deserve the big pay. Sport player's deserve the money to. Sure I wish I made millions of dollars,but it really is'nt that big of a deal to me.

if you look at the number of actors and players in the world, only a few of them earn that kind of money. most of them, especially actors struggle even to make a living with their acting job alone.

as for the rest, do they deserve it? Many Profi Athlethes ruin their bodies in few years of their lives, for our entertainment they need to provide for the future, because they can be active only a limited amount of time.

Actors? They get paid that much money because you can make even more money with them. if nobody wants to see them, they will not earn that much, simple as that. And again, some  carreers are short, they would be foolish not to take what they can get.

do they need that much money? probably not. but there is no such thing as too much money.

if you don't want to support them, don't watch sports and don't watch TV or go to the Movies.

Plus to become a proffessional athelete, they had to become the best... which usually involves sacrificing your entire child hood.

And damn, it ain't fun being a celebrity everyone can recognize.  You gotta stay inside and avoid people all the time, and you never know if your relationships are because people care for you, or because they want your money.

Heck, American Football players play for 3 1/2 years on average... and live 20-25 years less on average or so.

or they could lower prices for everything so their fans can appreciate their work and have money in their pocket.

Many jobs have people working 12-16 hrs at a time. That is not reason enough for the absurd amount that some make.

My theater is $3 for a ticket. How much lower can you get? O.o 

You get the money that your job earns, and moviestars earn more. I didn't realize that about American Footbal players, only 3 1/2 years? That is just awful.

Must be nice. They could still go lower though can't they if they are making money. Where do you watch movies?

I usually pay 7 for regular and I think its like 10-15 for 3d. I dont really go to the movies though.
